They don’t listen to you
Anything you say to him, it looks like he doesn’t listen to you and gives the impression he thinks elsewhere. It is normal to upset you, because you got a lot of things to tell him about, but he, the hallowed and the precious one is captivated by a TV issue! What can you do in such an inappreciative moment?
Replace “Why don’t you ever listen to me?” with “I got the feeling that you are absent”.
You have to be very patient and not to pelt it with millions of subjects of talking and do not be quarrelsome. Communication is the key of success in any relationship, but was proved that, for men, too much dialogue spoils good spirits. You lover won’t accept ever the role of “your best friend to gossip”.
And the more you expect something from him more disappointed you will be.
He does not want to talk
When it is obvious that something is crushing him or something is changed in your relation, he won’t want to seat at the table to talk. You have to tap the subject in a different manner. Men work different than women: when they have a problem they prefer to turn away from the outside world because they are convinced of the fact that they are the only ones who can find the solutions.
Your exaggerate attention may look like an intrusion in the personal space. Therefore, choose a certain moment, when you drink a glass of wine, for example, and ask him what is happening to him. If he wants to talk is ok, if not, wait until he will talk to you.
He does not pay you the attention you need and deserve
When you celebrate “x” years since you have met, he asks you to which restaurant do you want to go, what present do you want to receive but he does not have the mind to do something and to make you a beautiful surprise.
It is quite disappointing for a woman. However, don’t be mad on him: think about other proves of live which he “gave” to you, maybe more subtle than you wanted, but not less sincere. Most of men are not used to register their feeling and emotions. But if you really think that he is neglecting you, talk to him about that problem and solve it together.
He doesn’t look to understand
For a while, conventionalism installed in your relationship, you relation is not so strong. You do not have any projects and plans together. “Something is not working between us, let’s talk!”, you say to him, but he feels assaulted and gives you the feeling that he is not messed with what is happening with this relationship.
Firstly, you are not on the same wavelength. Talk to him and explain that the problem you want to fix depends of both and he is not the only person responsible.
Use more frequent the pronoun “me” than “you”.
Eliminate from your vocabulary words like “never”, “nothing”, “always” and resist the temptation to make incriminations. Another secret is to replace the phrase “you have never offered me a flower” with “I would be delighted if you buy me sometimes a picotee”.
