The New Oprah Winfrey’s Diet

After she caught the attention of millions of women around the world with her former diet, Oprah Winfrey is now taking a new nutritional strategy that benefits her not only physically but spiritually also.
Did I mist you? Spiritual diet? YES! Oprah just began a 21-days cleansing diet. Why? Because she wants to have a healthier and more peaceful life.
The diet is vegan 100%, not vegetarian but vegan. Vegetarians avoid meat but eat eggs and milk products while vegans avoid both for ethical reasons.
What does this diet consist of?
The star avoids eating all of these: coffee (and caffeine products), sugar, alcohol, gluten and every lactate or animal originated products.
If I avoid all that, what’s left? Oprah’s new diet includes eating fibers, whole cereals, bean, other vegetables (fresh, boiled or sautéd), peanut butter, almonds and many fruits (especially those growing in a natural environment).
Scrambled eggs with no eggs
Oprah was surprised when she found out that a meal with no meat can be so satisfying: “I never imagined meatless meals could be so satisfying. I had been focusing on what I had to give up–sugar, gluten, alcohol, meat, chicken, fish, eggs, cheese. “What’s left?” I thought. Apparently a lot. I can honestly say every meal was a surprise and a delight”
She admits that sometimes she desires a glass of wine, champagne or a cocktail, but she sticks to drinks containing no alcohol and low calories.
What’s a rich and delicious meal for Oprah? For today’s menu we have: creamy asparagus soup, mushrooms, beans, spinach and sweet potatoes. Yummy!
Menu suggestions from Oprah:
Breakfast: oat flakes, fresh blueberries, strawberries, walnuts, some soy milk and agaves nectar.
Lunch: creamy mushroom soup, wild rice and pecans.
Snack: some roasted almonds.
Dinners:
- a baked potato drizzled with olive oil, salt and pepper with a salad of shredded lettuce, cranberries, pine nuts and tiny orange slices with a vinegar and oil dressing
- rice with mushrooms, garlic and herbage
- lentil soup
- baked potatoes with sauté onion
- herbage and olive oil plus avocado and tomatoes
- lemon, garlic and olive oil
If Oprah hired a personal chef to cook all these meals for her that doesn’t mean it’s easy to take the diet. Ultimately, you have to make sure you get all the nutrients you need by eating a diversity of permitted foods.Oprah also makes sure she gets the best fruits and vegetables. How? In her case many of the vegetables and fruits she eats grow in her private kitchen garden.
Let’s recap! How’s the new Oprah Winfrey’s diet? It’s a 21-days vegan diet (no meat, lactates, eggs, sugar and processed food) rich in fibers and antioxidants, with no alcohol and plenty of physical and spiritual exercises (yoga and meditation).
